Op woensdag 29 juni gaat het CCP symposium: 'Nieuwe interventies in de behandeling van psychose'! georganiseerd door KU Leuven door tussen 10 en 17 u in het Auditorium O&N4 – Gasthuisberg - Leuven. 

Binnen het onderzoek in de geestelijke gezondheidszorg, zien we heel veel innovatie en vernieuwing op het gebied van psychologische interventies. Er wordt steeds meer onderzoek gedaan naar de effecten van psychologische interventies en ook nieuwe digitale technieken worden gebruikt om psychologische interventies te ontwikkelen en te optimaliseren.

In dit symposium brengen wij u graag op de hoogte van de nieuwste ontwikkelingen op het gebied van psychologische interventies voor mensen met een diagnose van psychotische stoornis.

Kosten voor registratie bedragen 50 euro, hierbij zijn de lunch en receptie inbegrepen. Na registratie ontvangt u later nog gedetailleerde informatie zoals de routebeschrijving. Er is geen deadline voor inschrijven, maar let op: plaatsen zijn beperkt! Accreditatie is aangevraagd.

Biografie

Prof. Inez Myin-Germeys is psycholoog van opleiding en professor Contextuele Psychiatrie aan KU Leuven. Ze is een experte in de Experience Sampling Methode, waarmee ze de interactie tussen de persoon en zijn/haar omgeving onderzoekt in de ontwikkeling van psychopathologie. Daarnaast werkt zij aan de klinische toepassing van de Experience Sampling Methode in de klinische praktijk. Op deze manier probeert zij in te zetten op innovatie en vernieuwing in de geestelijke gezondheidszorg.

Philippa Garety is Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London and an honorary consultant clinical psychologist at the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Prof Garety’s research is focussed on the investigation of cognitive and emotional processes in psychosis, particularly distressing beliefs and voices, together with developing new digital psychological therapeutics. With colleagues, she currently working on SlowMo, a novel digitally-supported intervention for paranoia, and coleading a new research programme and large trial of AVATAR therapy for distressing voices.

Louise Johns is a consultant clinical psychologist with 24 years’ clinical and research experience in understanding and treating psychosis. She works clinically in the Oxford Early Intervention in Psychosis Service, overseeing the delivery of psychological interventions for service users, together with training and supervising staff. She is also a senior research tutor on the Oxford Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training course and an honorary senior research fellow in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. Louise is co-editor of the book Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness for Psychosis and co-author of ACT for Psychosis Recovery: A Practical Manual for Group-Based Interventions Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Evelyne van Aubel is doctor in de biomedische wetenschappen en is postdoctoraal onderzoeker bij het Centrum voor Contextuele Psychiatrie, KU Leuven, België. Ze heeft expertise in ecologische momentane interventies, of interventies die aan de hand van digitale tools de brug proberen vormen tussen face-to-face psychotherapiesessies enerzijds en het dagelijkse leven van patiënten anderzijds. Binnen haar onderzoek is zij voornamelijk geïnteresseerd in de haalbaarheid, effectiviteit, en therapeutische werkingsmechanismen van deze nieuwe interventies, met een focus op de implementatie van deze interventies in mensen met vroeg psychose.

Felicity Waite is a clinical psychologist and researcher at the University of Oxford. The focus of her work is developing effective interventions for distressing psychotic experiences and using advances in digital technology to ensure treatments are widely accessible. She holds a Wellcome Trust fellowship focused on developing interventions for young people at ultra-high risk of psychosis and is deputy lead of the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis clinical research group at the University of Oxford.

Glenn Kiekens is doctor in de Psychologie en Public Health en is als postdoctoraal onderzoeker verbonden aan de onderzoeksgroep Klinische Psychologie en het Centrum voor Contextuele Psychiatrie aan de KU Leuven (België). De primaire focus van zijn onderzoek ligt op het bevorderen van wetenschappelijke kennis over waarom niet-suïcidaal zelfverwondend gedrag (bijv. snijden, zichzelf slaan) ontstaat en hoe het optreden ervan kan worden voorspeld en voorkomen. Meer in het algemeen is hij ook geïnteresseerd in de implementatie van digitale tools die gerichte preventie en gepersonaliseerde interventie in de geestelijke gezondheidszorg mogelijk maken.

Dr Lucia Valmaggia works as Reader in Clinical Psychology and Digital Mental Health and Head of the Virtual reality Lab. In her career to date she has conducted research that is clinically relevant and directly applicable to the delivery of clinical services. Her work has focused on the prevention and early detection of mental health problems, in particular psychosis. She has extensive experience in service implementation in the community and she set up the first service for prevention and early detection of psychosis in a prison setting. She conducts clinical studies using virtual reality assisted therapy. She has published extensively, and she has been named Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Dr Valmaggia is Past-President of the IEPA-Early Intervention in Mental Health Association. In 2021 she was awarded the British Psychological Society Presidents’ Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychological Knowledge.
